Moons, Ship Veterancy and more!

Moons

Every home world, and the Ferion planet, now has a moon. You can see it orbiting the planet on the map, under the star name in the planet header, and as a badge in every planet list.

Two new technologies unlock what you can do with it.

Lunar Construction (after Quantum Gravity Theory) adds three buildings that can only be built on a planet with a moon:
  • Lunar Shield Projector: +20 planet shields
  • Lunar Defense Battery: +30 planet attack against ships
  • Lunar Deep Space Radar: +15 scanning range
With these your home world becomes a proper stronghold, and in battle replays part of the planet's fire now comes from the moon.

Lunar Propulsion (after Antimatter Thruster) adds the Moon Engine: ten engine slots on the moon. Light them one at a time, one Dropium each, in the new Lunar Drive screen. With at least one engine online you can launch. The moon leaves the planet for good, together with its lunar buildings, and becomes a moon-ship: a million points of hull, speed equal to the number of engines you lit, and whatever the battery, projector and radar gave it at launch.

Send the moon to any enemy planet and it will fly straight to it. The enemy can send fleets and try to intercept and destroy it. If they are unsuccessful, the moon will crash into the planet/ring and completely destroy it. Once the moon engages the planet, no defenses can stop it.

Two hundred ships throw everything at an incoming moon. It is not enough.

The Dropium Processing technology has been moved forward in the tech tree to make it available sooner.

Ship Veterancy

Every ship that survives a battle earns experience for the damage it dealt. Damage is measured against the ship's own hull, so a small frame that lands its weight in damage advances just as fast as a dreadnought. Planet bombardment counts at half weight, and every kill is worth a bonus.

Six tiers: Green, Blooded, Seasoned, Veteran, Elite and Legendary. Each tier adds a little: up to +20% attack, +15% shields and +50% repair at Legendary. No hull bonus, so a veteran is still a ship you can kill, just one you should not underestimate.

Veterancy belongs to the ship, not the fleet. Lose the ship and the experience is gone, so bringing your veterans home matters.

Battle report replays now end with the experience gained floating above every ship that earned it, with a star when a ship reaches a new tier.

Experience earned floats above the survivors at the end of a replay

The ship list and ship details show each ship's insignia. Hover it to see experience, kills, battles fought and the current bonus.

Map updates

It is now much easier to operate the map on mobile: the planet, star and ship popups open at the bottom of the screen.

Ship Weapon Adjustment

Plasma Disruptor Cannon rebalanced from 4 mass / 4 cost / 2 attack to 5 mass / 5 cost / 3 attack. It was identical to two Lasers per mass and cost, so it now sits between Lasers and the Particle Beam Cannon in attack per mass and per cost.
